Batch Prep Guide
quantities for 50, 100 and 200 serves
Always batch bases cold. Pre-mix juice and syrup bases the night before. Keep refrigerated until service.
Never batch carbonated drinks. Always add soda water and tonic per glass at service to preserve bubbles.
Foam is always made fresh. Pre-mix foam bases in bottles. Froth per glass to order — never pre-batch foam.
Matcha paste in squeeze bottles. Pre-whisk and store in squeeze bottles. Makes service much faster.

Recipe Capture
save drinks from anywhere — test them, add them to the book
Paste what you've got — the more the better. Name and source URL are enough to save, you can flesh out ingredients and steps later when you sit down to test.
Paste the full link — lets you jump back to the original later.
Helps you find it later. Press Enter or comma to add each tag.
Type them one per line — will display as a bulleted list.
Great for reels where the creator narrates but doesn't write it down. Screen-record → run through a transcription tool → paste here.
Getting recipes out of Instagram reels
Most reels don't have the recipe written down — it's spoken in the video or flashed on screen. Here's how to capture it properly.
1
Save it to Collections first. Tap the bookmark ribbon under the reel and hold — create a collection called Qwenched Recipes. This keeps everything in one place while you batch-process later.
2
Check the caption and pinned comment. Many creators drop the full recipe in a pinned comment or link in bio. Always look here before anything fancier.
3
Screen-record if the recipe is spoken. Use your phone's built-in screen recorder while the reel plays with sound on. Save the clip.
4
Transcribe the recording. Drop the screen recording into a transcription tool — ChatGPT voice mode, Claude, or NotebookLM all handle this well. Ask it to list ingredients and steps.
5
Paste into Add New. Drop ingredients into the Ingredients box, steps into Method, and the full transcript into the Raw Transcript field as a backup. Hit Save.
6
Test, then promote. Prototype it with our pantry. When it works, mark it Tested & Keep, fill in the category and any missing ingredients, then tap ↑ Promote to Recipe Book. It instantly appears in Module 01 with a From Capture badge — no GitHub editing needed.
Shortcut: automated extractors
Apps that do the URL-in, recipe-out step automatically. Results vary — they work best when the creator has spoken the recipe clearly.
·
ReciMe — built for this. Paste a reel, TikTok or YouTube link and it attempts to extract a recipe card. Best of the lot for social media.
·
Paprika — stronger with recipe blogs and websites than social clips, but good to have in the kit.
·
Whisk — saves from URLs and lets you build a personal recipe box. Free tier is generous.
Export & backup
Your saved recipes live on this device's browser. Back them up before switching phones or clearing cache.

deploy the portal · manage your team
Staff Login
Each staff member has their own account. Real auth, no shared PINs.
For staff to get access:
  1. They tap Request access on the sign-in screen
  2. They enter their name, email, and choose a password
  3. You receive a notification (or check Supabase → Authentication → Users)
  4. You activate them: in Supabase → Table Editor → staff_profiles, set active = true and role to staff, manager, or admin
  5. They can now sign in
A built-in admin panel for this is coming in a later phase — for now, manage staff directly in Supabase.
Generate your QR code
Takes under 2 minutes. Once generated, print and laminate for the station.
1
Make sure this file is live on GitHub Pages as index.html. You should have a URL like username.github.io/qwenched.
2
Go to qr-code-generator.com (free, no account needed).
3
Paste your GitHub Pages URL into the URL field.
4
Customise the colour if you want — amber (#E8A23D) on charcoal (#14130F) matches the brand.
5
Download as SVG or PNG at the highest resolution.
6
Print at A5 size minimum. Laminate it so spills don't ruin it. Mount at eye level at your station.
Important: The QR code always points to your live URL. Every time you update the HTML file on GitHub, staff see the latest version automatically. You never need to reprint the QR code.
How to update the portal
1
Go to your GitHub repository and open index.html.
2
Click the pencil icon to edit, or upload a new file replacing it.
3
Commit changes — the live site updates within a minute.
4
Staff scan the same QR code and see the new version instantly.
